Colonel Adolf P. Sgambelluri was appointed U.S. Federal Security Director for the Transportation Security Administration
(TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and assigned to the A.B. Won Pat Guam International Airport in July 2002.
He brings over 25 years of security and law enforcement experience to the position.
Upon graduating from Washington State University in 1960, Colonel Sgambelluri was commissioned in the U.S. Marine
Corps and while on active duty, completed his MBA at Pepperdine University in 1975. He has also completed numerous
national levels of law enforcement training, to include the Military Intelligence School (1964), FBI National Academy in
Quantico (1972), Virginia, and the National Intelligence Academy for Law Enforcement. He is a recipient of the "Outstanding
Executive Manager Award" for American Law Enforcement Professionals and the "Police Distinguished Service Medal."
Appointed as the Director of Law Enforcement (DLE), Colonel Sgambelluri became the "Top Cop" and had administrative
control of the entire Law Enforcement and Corrections Program, U.S. Marine Corps, worldwide. A decorated combat
veteran, Colonel Sgambelluri retired as DLE for the U.S. Marine Corps and returned to Guam in 1980 after 26 years of
military service. Highest decoration received for combat action is the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device for Valor and the
Legion of Merit Medal for outstanding leadership as the DLE. He subsequently served the island of Guam as Vice President,
Guam Community College (GCC), Director, Department of Corrections (DOC), and the Chief of Police, Guam Police
Department (GPD). During his active duty tenure with the U.S. Marine Corps he was assigned and performed as an UCMJ
Article #32 and JAG Investigator, and to include as Officer In-Charge of the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at a large
Marine Corps Base (CamPen).
In April 2003, he was appointed to the Guam Community College Board of Trustees by the Governor of Guam; and elected
Chairman, GCC Board of Trustees in November 2004.
The Colonel and his family reside in Nimitz Hill Estates, Piti area. He is married to Rosie L.G. Sgambelluri and they have
three children: Adolfo Pietro, Michelle, and Ana Maria. The Colonel and Rosie also take pride in their three grandchildren
Chiara, Taylor, and Giovanna.
Effective in September 2005, Colonel Sgambelluri tendered his resignation to TSA DHS to take care of his health and
family. He will now dedicate his available time as the CEO, Investigations Agency International Corporation, Guam.
